History A-Level

History isn’t a subject that is stuck in the past. Far from it! Historical events are what have shaped society worldwide into what it is today. As George Santanyana so aptly said ‘those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.’ During the course of year 12 and 13 students will study units 1, 2 and 3 concurrently.

Units

Unit 1: The Tudors: England, 1485-1603
Unit 2: The Cold War, 1945-1991
Unit 3: Historical Investigation: Russia and the USSR 1855-1953

Entry Requirements

A minimum of five GCSEs at grades 4-9, including English and maths and at least a grade 6 at GCSE in history if studied.

Transition to KS5
